Animal Crossing Towns

About Animal Crossing Towns

Hi, I'm YukiKat,
This is where you can find ongoing updates about my various animal crossing towns!

About this blog

I got my first Animal crossing game when I was around 10 years old, it was the Population Growing version for the Nintendo Gamecube, and it's been one of my major interests/hobbies ever since.

I was a young teen when Wild World released and was fortunate enough to get a DS and Wild World for Christmas that year. I played so much World and this is when I first started seeing custom designs. The old internet wasn't as good at keeping you in sites of your native language (which is something I actually miss). I ended up on Japanese blogs where they shared the most beautiful designs. And I couldn't read any of it lol. It really inspired me and made me want to learn to Japanese, so I could read about their towns and properly thank them for sharing. (Google transate was also not a thing lol).

When New Leaf came out I was in college and I didn't even own a 3ds yet, I had to pick up extra shifts to save for one just so I could get New Leaf (we had been waiting forever!). New Leaf was peak, I am a New Leaf is best in series girl, I could also go into the neuroscience/psychology of that but I'll save it for another time lol, but basically having to work for the PWP derives an end game and more satisfaction overall. With New Leaf the game saved to the cartridge so if you bought additional cartriges you could have additional towns, I ended up with 3 copies over the years so I'll post about my original town of Paw Port, and I will be making a brand new New Leaf Town for this site!

Finally we arrive at New Horizons. It has so many great things and quality of life improvements and I enjoy it alot, but having the game save to the console and not the cartridge is scandal. To have multiple towns this means you have to buy a completely new switch. I do feel like the 3.0 update is addressing this itch with dream islands and they will be very easy to design and customize it seems like, but for 5 years quite a scandal. I will also be making a new New Horizons town for the site, getting ready and playing the 3.0 update, and sharing a lot of designs as this is the game most people are still playing.

I really hope you enjoy my old school blog style animal crossing obsession lol, Thanks for checking it out!

Summaries

Kikonai

Animal Crossing Wildworld

Kikonai was not my original Wild World town, I reset at some point after getting engrossed in Japanese design blogs, but it is a very old town! Kikonai is a real place in Japan in the province of Hokkaido, it's a very small town with a population of around 5,000 people. It sits on a beach facing the northern part of mainland Japan. As a young teen this was was cool to me because it was a small town and it would be like the messages in a bottle were coming from mainland Japan. If you want to see more about my Kikonai, click the tab on the left.

Paw Port

Animal Crossing New Leaf

Paw Port is my original New Leaf Town! I am so excited to share screenshots of this town over time as they are still on my system I just have to remember how to get them onto the computer lol. My gamecbe game was named Paw Park, so this town pays homage to that original gamecube town. This island heavily features violets, they are my favorite flower in the game and I was bummed to see them not return in New Horizons. If you want to see more about Paw Port, click it's link to the left.

Minato

Animal Crossing New Leaf

Minato is a new town I will be starting for this blog, It will be based off the real world ward of Minato in Tokyo which heavily inspired the Sailor Moon Series. I'm hoping to create a park area that will represent the Hikawa Shrine (where Sailor Mars lives), as well as Tokyo Tower which is in the same area. Getting this PWP reccomended by the villagers is going to be work! lol I also want to try to keep the plaza, resient services, and brewsters as close together as possible to give a more "city shops" feel. If you want to check in and see how it's going, click it's link on the left.

Matsubara

Animal Crossing New Horizons

This island will be a hardmode island which is a challenge mode created by Youtuber Nintentalk. Essentially it sets self-imposed rules that you must follow while you play, full details are on the towns tab. This is a new New Horizons town created for this blog/site, and I will be preparing for and playing the 3.0 update on this island. I haven't ever done a true city build so I am kind of leaning in that direction. I will update more soon, to follow along check out the tab on the left.

Kikonai

Paw Port

Minato

Matsubara

This island is a Hardmode island.

Hardmode is a challenge mode created by Youtuber Nintentalk that imposes rules to follow while you play.

The main rules are;

  • Can Time travel within 7 day window only.
  • Must complete a list of dailies.
  • You can only use custom designs you make yourself, including clothing which you must change weekly. (Accessories/shoes etc allowed).
  • Follow Economic limitations such as bugs can only be sold to Flick, Fish to CJ, One type of fruit tree and each crop limited to 9 of each and more.
  • I will not be doing the sunday market mechanic to start unless im able to find an active community doing Hardmode.
Full Challenge rules and video explanation can be found here.

Updates

Day Three (TT date 01.03.25)
Quick day, Talked to Gulliver for the first time and made Nook miles purchases that included the tool ring, the pretty good tools recipe, and the first expanded pockets. We also did our first Nook miles ticket and ran into Rex the lazy lion. :)

Day Two (TT date 01.02.25)
I woke up in my newly constructed house which means I can now make nook miles purchases, I grabbed the pro design addon right away for 800. I met Blathers and got my first couple fossils as well as bought a wet suit so I can start diving tomorrow as well. I got pretty lucky popping balloons and managed to get three winter wallpaer recipes, the ice wall, ski slope wall, and my favorite wall the falling-snow wall. I supplied Timmy and Tommy with all 90 pieces of various wood they need to construct a shop but even with Kid Cat donating some iron nuggets to the cause I wasn't able to get to 30. Most excitingly I made my first pro design today inspired by a floral dress and cardigan (pictured below.) I don't think I get my designer code until I unlock Able Sisters and the design portal, so I will share once unlocked. :)

Day One (TT date 01.01.25)
Starting Villagers are Plucky & Kid Cat. I'm not particularly fond of either but Kid Kat will be my hardmode island bestie, I will need to collect his photo before he can leave.
I was able to earn my initial 5000 miles and request Tom Nook to upgrade my tent to a house which I believe will mean I'll be able to access pro designs and design my first outfit on Matsubara!
I was also able to give Tom Nook 5 creatures and place Blathers tent which means he will arrive day two as well.

01.01.26 The challenge rules state we can only re-roll the maps a single time, and the islands name must come from an animal crossing town name generator. I used this one here, This site is great for name generation but I really wanted a more Japanese name since I'm kind of leaning towards a Tokyo-esque build, so I translated the name into japanese lol.

I liked Tulip and Pine the most and figured they had the easiest translations. Tulip being Ukkonko (botanical translation) and Pine being Matsu. Additionally a Pine grove is Matsubara. I ended up liking that the most so I landed on Matsubara. Some may say that's not a strict adherance to the challenge rules but since it's a cosmetic one that I will see over and over for the longevity of the island I'm fine with it. I won;t be bending any economy rules or anything like that, but this one I am lol.

Because we are allowed to Time travel I am starting the island on Jan 1st 2025, which gives up time to move forward slowly as 3.0 gets closer at which point we will switch to real time.
So, without further ado, on January 1st *cough cough* 2025 *cough cough* The town of Matsubara was founded!
