Animal Crossing Towns

About Animal Crossing Towns

Hi, I'm YukiKat,
This is where you can find ongoing updates about my various animal crossing towns!

About this blog

I got my first Animal crossing game when I was around 10 years old, it was the Population Growing version for the Nintendo Gamecube, and it's been one of my major interests/hobbies ever since.

I was a young teen when Wild World released and was fortunate enough to get a DS and Wild World for Christmas that year. I played so much World and this is when I first started seeing custom designs. The old internet wasn't as good at keeping you in sites of your native language (which is something I actually miss). I ended up on Japanese blogs where they shared the most beautiful designs. And I couldn't read any of it lol. It really inspired me and made me want to learn to Japanese, so I could read about their towns and properly thank them for sharing. (Google transate was also not a thing lol).

When New Leaf came out I was in college and I didn't even own a 3ds yet, I had to pick up extra shifts to save for one just so I could get New Leaf (we had been waiting forever!). New Leaf was peak, I am a New Leaf is best in series girl, I could also go into the neuroscience/psychology of that but I'll save it for another time lol, but basically having to work for the PWP derives an end game and more satisfaction overall. With New Leaf the game saved to the cartridge so if you bought additional cartriges you could have additional towns, I ended up with 3 copies over the years so I'll post about my original town of Paw Port, and I will be making a brand new New Leaf Town for this site!

Finally we arrive at New Horizons. It has so many great things and quality of life improvements and I enjoy it alot, but having the game save to the console and not the cartridge is scandal. To have multiple towns this means you have to buy a completely new switch. I do feel like the 3.0 update is addressing this itch with dream islands and they will be very easy to design and customize it seems like, but for 5 years quite a scandal. I will also be making a new New Horizons town for the site, getting ready and playing the 3.0 update, and sharing a lot of designs as this is the game most people are still playing.

I really hope you enjoy my old school blog style animal crossing obsession lol, Thanks for checking it out!

Summaries

Kikonai

Animal Crossing Wildworld

Kikonai was not my original Wild World town, I reset at some point after getting engrossed in Japanese design blogs, but it is a very old town! Kikonai is a real place in Japan in the province of Hokkaido, it's a very small town with a population of around 5,000 people. It sits on a beach facing the northern part of mainland Japan. As a young teen this was was cool to me because it was a small town and it would be like the messages in a bottle were coming from mainland Japan. If you want to see more about my Kikonai, click the tab on the left.

Paw Port

Animal Crossing New Leaf

Paw Port is my original New Leaf Town! I am so excited to share screenshots of this town over time as they are still on my system I just have to remember how to get them onto the computer lol. My gamecbe game was named Paw Park, so this town pays homage to that original gamecube town. This island heavily features violets, they are my favorite flower in the game and I was bummed to see them not return in New Horizons. If you want to see more about Paw Port, click it's link to the left.

Minato

Animal Crossing New Leaf

Minato is a new town I will be starting for this blog, It will be based off the real world ward of Minato in Tokyo which heavily inspired the Sailor Moon Series. I'm hoping to create a park area that will represent the Hikawa Shrine (where Sailor Mars lives), as well as Tokyo Tower which is in the same area. Getting this PWP reccomended by the villagers is going to be work! lol I also want to try to keep the plaza, resient services, and brewsters as close together as possible to give a more "city shops" feel. If you want to check in and see how it's going, click it's link on the left.

Matsubara

Animal Crossing New Horizons

This island is considered finished and the DA has been uploaded. DA-4232-9187-2925.
This island will be a hardmode island which is a challenge mode created by Youtuber Nintentalk. Essentially it sets self-imposed rules that you must follow while you play, full details are on the towns tab. This is a new New Horizons town created for this blog/site, and I will be preparing for and playing the 3.0 update on this island. I haven't ever done a true city build so I am kind of leaning in that direction. I will update more soon, to follow along check out the tab on the left.

Kikonai

Paw Port

This island is a Hardmode island.

Hardmode is a challenge mode created by Youtuber Nintentalk that imposes rules to follow while you play.

  • I will not be doing the sunday market mechanic to start unless im able to find an active community doing Hardmode.

Updates

Day ??? (IRL date 01.25.26)
Matsubara Dream address is posted!

DA-4232-9187-2925

New Island brewing, stay tuned. :)

Day Sixteen (TT date 01.16.25)
I regret letting the RNG gods decide lmao. PeeWee ... the gorilla ... moved in today. Mabel is visiting for the third time and asked me to place Able Sisters! One of my villagers (Tia) gifted me a tulip hat in a really cute blue and yellow pattern I havn't seen before (or at least don't remember). So I recolored my patchwork design to match the blues and yellows and it came out so cute! (I will post pictures and codes soon now that Ables will be open). I'm thinking these updates are probably going to be more boring once project KK is completed and will probably become more design oriented / town tour style, but we'll see. :)

Day Fifteen (TT date 01.15.25)
Turnips peaked at 186 this morning so I sold all my turnips for a profit of about 160k I believe, my math may be off a bit on that, but very happy and can finally pay off my current loan and request the next house (and storage!) upgrade! CJ is also visiting the island! I've been farming bait and fishing quite a bit for the museum and after selling all the fish stacked up around my island I made an additional 60k today which was awesome! I placed the rest of the remaining plots for villager houses and am probably going to let them just autofill unless I notice they're not really filling then I'll do a single NMT. I am letting the RNG gods decide lol.

Day Fourteen (TT date 01.14.25)
I'm upset. The campsyte villager is....Lopez the deer. I am losing the villager lottery hard in this playthrough lol. For turnip tracking the small spike is confirmed, trending to peak tomorrow so holding off for tomorrow. I placed a plot for Lopez as well as one additional plot. Gullivar was visiting was I helped him out.

Day Thirteen (TT date 01.13.25)
KidCat is sick! I brought him medicine right away don't worry he was feeling better already lol. The campsite is built, no one is visiting I must have to wait another day. Flick is visiting! For the hardmode challenge you can only sell bugs to Flick, Fish to CJ, Weeds to Lief etc there's strict economy rules. So I'd been saving bees up with a few random butterflies mixed in and I made 25K selling to Flick today!

Day Twelve (TT date 01.12.25)
Sunday, 1st turnip buying day!I ended buying 178k worth of turnips since I'm fairly certain we will get a small spike. I've run out of storage from materials and it's getting frustrating not paying off a house upgrade but it will be worth the pain lol. Mabel is visiting as well for the second time I believe so we almost have Able Sisters! With Resident Services now open I bought a ton with my Nook Miles; Ultimate pocket stuffing, custom design pro editor+, custom design patterns+, pro decorating license, Hip reactions, pro camera app, & New reactions notebook. I updated the town flag and town tune with Isabelle, went with the Sailor Moon theme for the tune! Started project K.K. &Finally I built/placed the campsite.

Day Eleven (TT date 01.11.25)
Another quick day of dailies, resident services is now open and Isabelle has arrived!

Day Ten (TT date 01.10.25)
Quick day, Resident services is closed as it's under the upgrade construction. Just did dailies and Tia moved in!

Day Nine (TT date 01.09.25)
Designed a Flag for the town today, Peanut moved in, Sold all my weeds to Lief who was visiting for the first time and made over 15k! I havn't been able to buy turnips yet but now that Nooks is open I can check the proces and start tracking the trends, they're selling at 333 today so instantly I know we're in the big spike pattern. They don't repeat two weeks in a row but it's likely we'll be guaranteed a small spike next week since it's the first time buying turnips as well. (Flag code will be uploaded eventually).

Day Eight (TT date 01.08.25)
Another quick day with not much oing on, our first villager moved in which is of course Rex who we met on the very 1st NMT trip. The other houses have autofilled residents so just waiting for them to pop in over the next couple days, house two was filled by Peanut the squirrel and house three by Tia the elephant. I've never had Tia so that will be fun! Harv also showed up on the island today so I flew to his island and took a picture to get it over with lol. On the NMT island for the day I just stole all the islands pine trees and brought them back to Matsubara lol. I also designed a new sweater which I've dubbed the "The Lazy Cat" Sweater! I still don't have Ables so I can't share the codes yet but as soon as it's unlocked I will update the designs page! :)

Day Seven (TT date 01.07.25)
Redd appeared today for the first time & I bought a totally authentic version of Starry Night. I placed the three plots for Tom Nook and got to work filling the furniture requests. For my Nook Island tour today I got a special fruit island! My fruit is pears and my sister fruit (the fruit your mom sends in the mail) is apples, this island was filled with cherry trees! Now all I need are peaches and my favorite, oranges! I also started tracking turnip trends today as I plan to start investing in them on the next Sunday we hit.

Day Six (TT date 01.06.25)
The museum opened today! I also found Gulliver drunk on the beach. I mostly dug up clams today and made bait as it was snowing in town and I wanted to attempt to get some of the rarer fish, I ended up catching the football fish so not a total loss. I ended the day by placing the log bridge for Tom Nook!

Day Five (TT date 01.05.25)
Another short day of mainly the daily tasks, the museum is under construction and the Nooklings store opened! I also made a pastel re-coloring of the colorblock design!

Day Four (TT date 01.04.25)
I finally got the 30 iron nuggets and placed the site for the nooklings shop. I was also able to pay off my first home loan and request the next expansion. I was able to give Plucky a gift so I gave her wallpaper and she gifted me back... a hamster. I finished the initial 20 donations to Blathers and placed the site for the Museum as well. Finally I created the color block cardigandesign!
Apologies for the image quality here I;m not sure what happened, once I unlock Ables I will post to the designs page. :)

Day Three (TT date 01.03.25)
Quick day, Talked to Gulliver for the first time and made Nook miles purchases that included the tool ring, the pretty good tools recipe, and the first expanded pockets. We also did our first Nook miles ticket and ran into Rex the lazy lion. :)

Day Two (TT date 01.02.25)
I woke up in my newly constructed house which means I can now make nook miles purchases, I grabbed the pro design addon right away for 800. I met Blathers and got my first couple fossils as well as bought a wet suit so I can start diving tomorrow as well. I got pretty lucky popping balloons and managed to get three winter wallpaer recipes, the ice wall, ski slope wall, and my favorite wall the falling-snow wall. I supplied Timmy and Tommy with all 90 pieces of various wood they need to construct a shop but even with Kid Cat donating some iron nuggets to the cause I wasn't able to get to 30. Most excitingly I made my first pro design today inspired by a floral dress and cardigan (pictured below.) I don't think I get my designer code until I unlock Able Sisters and the design portal, so I will share once unlocked. :)

Day One (TT date 01.01.25)
Starting Villagers are Plucky & Kid Cat. I'm not particularly fond of either but Kid Kat will be my hardmode island bestie, I will need to collect his photo before he can leave.
I was able to earn my initial 5000 miles and request Tom Nook to upgrade my tent to a house which I believe will mean I'll be able to access pro designs and design my first outfit on Matsubara!
I was also able to give Tom Nook 5 creatures and place Blathers tent which means he will arrive day two as well.

01.01.26 The challenge rules state we can only re-roll the maps a single time, and the islands name must come from an animal crossing town name generator. I used this one here, This site is great for name generation but I really wanted a more Japanese name since I'm kind of leaning towards a Tokyo-esque build, so I translated the name into japanese lol.

I liked Tulip and Pine the most and figured they had the easiest translations. Tulip being Ukkonko (botanical translation) and Pine being Matsu. Additionally a Pine grove is Matsubara. I ended up liking that the most so I landed on Matsubara. Some may say that's not a strict adherance to the challenge rules but since it's a cosmetic one that I will see over and over for the longevity of the island I'm fine with it. I won;t be bending any economy rules or anything like that, but this one I am lol.

Because we are allowed to Time travel I am starting the island on Jan 1st 2025, which gives up time to move forward slowly as 3.0 gets closer at which point we will switch to real time.
So, without further ado, on January 1st *cough cough* 2025 *cough cough* The town of Matsubara was founded!

PebblePort

I've made a moodboard

I was really inspired by youtuber Sparksby, she posted a video "How I design my Island" (here) on how she plan's her islands. I usually start with some pinterest info but I've never really gone beyond that and thought about specific color palettes, villagers, or items and so I really wanted to try a more thourough approach. I'd really like this island to be a forever island so I'm hoping the planning will help calm my chronic resetter inside lol.
